Boehringer Ingelheim UlcerGard (Omeprazole) Oral Paste for Horses

Competition-related stress - confinement, training, traveling and performance - can lead to stomach ulcers in your horse in just 5 days. UlcerGard is currently the only non-prescription, FDA-approved product intended for the prevention of gastric ulcers, or Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS), in healthy horses for up to 28 days. A daily dose should be administered to horses during times of excessive stress, such as a change in routine, limited or no turnout, inconsistent meal schedules, confinement, traveling, training, racing, showing or competition.

Dosage: For 600-1,200 lb horse, give 0.45 mg/lb (1/4 syringe) on back of tongue or deep in cheek pouch; Over 1,200 lbs, give 0.9 mg/lb (1/2 syringe). For horses under 600 lbs, consult a veterinarian. May be safely used in breeding stallions; safety in pregnant mares has not been determined.

Contains 2.28 gm omeprazole per tube.
