Is your horse above the bit in doubles? The NS Aachen is an innovative, ergonomically designed, very kind Weymouth. The Neue Schule Aachen is designed to encourage collection and containment without tension.

    Mouthpiece thickness is 16 mm.

Although single jointed, this bit is ergonomically designed to eradicate the ‘nutcracker’ action and consequent problems that the traditional straight-armed single jointed snaffle often causes. The cleverly curved mouthpiece prevents it from moving too far forwards in the mouth reducing pressure on the thinner more sensitive part of the tongue. It sweeps slightly away from the corner of the lip to lessen any chance of rubbing and the curvature down towards the bars achieves a gentle more even weight bearing surface. This design is very beneficial for horses that back off or only offer an intermittent contact or for the very rare occasion when a horse does not find a lozenge comfortable.

The Neue Schule Demi-Anky Universal offers control without discomfort or severity. Although single jointed, the Neue Schule Demi-Anky is ergonomically designed to eradicate the nutcracker action and consequent problems that the traditional straight-armed single jointed snaffle often causes. It is brilliant for faster work such as jumping etc as you can turn much more easily and it generally eliminates the head toss when asking for a downward transition, or lengthening and shortening in between fences. If you need to upgrade from a snaffle, it is highly recommended as you are staying with a mild mouthpiece but subtly simultaneously employing other pressure points. There are four rein options including the curb strap and pelham roundings.

Does your horse have insufficient room in the mouth to accommodate a conventional Weymouth? The Neue Schule Lightweight Mors L'Hotte Weymouth (French Curb) is ideal for horses that do not have much room in the mouth and it is also extremely beneficial for horses that are strong, but sensitive at the same time. The mouthpiece traces out a subtle convex arc in alignment with the curb cheek shanks. It exerts very gentle even pressure across the tongue and does not abuse the sensitive outer edges, nor does it roll forwards onto a thinner more sensitive area of the tongue. This promotes comfort and has consistently proved to eradicate tongue evasions. Since extra room is created a thicker bradoon may be employed with this curb.

Mouthpiece thickness is 12 mm. Shank size is 7 cm.

Designed for the horse with a short smile (small distance from the corner of the lip to the muzzle)! A mild ergonomically designed Weymouth. The gently sloping mouthpiece forms a wide, low tongue bridge designed for maximum comfort across the tongue and gentle, even weight distribution over the bars. The mouthpiece is a constant 16mm diameter, circular over the bars and cleverly changing shape forming an oval profile over the tongue, thereby occupying minimum volume between the tongue and upper palate. A very kind, gentle mouthpiece designed specifically for maximum comfort and clear communication.

Mouthpiece thickness is 16 mm. Shank size is 7 cm.

Do you want to create the illusion of a double bridle but without using two mouthpieces? The NS Loose Ring Pelham is an innovative, lightweight, elegant cheek design that creates the illusion of doubles whilst using only one mouthpiece. The snaffle ring is both positioned and engineered to turn freely, allowing the rider to differentiate to a greater degree between the snaffle and curb reins. The loose ring is advantageous for horses that are wooden, lean or tend to over bend in the traditional Pelham. Often referred to as the Show Pelham as it is very popular for showing classes.

Mouthpiece thickness 14 mm. Shank size 7 cm.

Very popular on show horses that set, lean and go!! The only Neue Schule Pelham to remove poll pressure and increase curb action. This clever design is brilliant to combat strong, rude horses and/or those with a tendency to lean or snatch down. Lightness and outline is encouraged and any tendency to over bend is usually eradicated. Many horses do over bend in other Pelhams possibly due to the poll pressure. The combination of the mild Slimma mouthpiece and Swales cheek is excellent for use on a horse that fully understands the aids. Only recommended for riders with an independent seat and sympathetic hands.

Mouthpiece thickness 14 mm. Shank size 7 cm.

Gives a good lifting action without upper palate interference. A very unobtrusive design that sits well back in the mouth over the thicker, less sensitive part of the tongue. The 'Slimma' Weymouth is anatomically designed to take up very little room in the mouth bridging the tongue (tongue relief) and contouring snugly under the upper palate leaving much more space for the bridoon -- hence a fatter bridoon is an option that may benefit a horse that is tentative into the contact. The 14mm normally offers extra lift from the shoulder and takes up less room in the mouth than thicker mouthpieces.

Make the first start the right start –establish the basics. The Starter is designed to promote acceptance and confidence in the contact. It is a common misconception that mouthing should be encouraged, when in fact it is quiet, relaxed acceptance we are aiming for. A gentle bit that encourages the horse to stretch the top line forwards and down into a soft consistent contact.

Recommended as your horse’s introduction to the Weymouth (relaxed acceptance). Also extremely beneficial for the sensitive mouth. A mild ergonomically designed Weymouth that sits well back in the mouth over a thicker, less sensitive area of the tongue. It is highly recommended as your horse’s first Weymouth as it promotes relaxed acceptance, encouraging the horse to lengthen the neck, stretching into a soft, consistent contact.

Develop the partnership with this gentle all purpose training bit. Ergonomically curved to encompass the tongue and align itself underneath the upper palate, giving very even gentle weight distribution. The NS Team Up alleviates mouth over activity and tongue evasions therefore promoting a softer more consistent contact. It encourages the horse to soften through the jaw relaxing and lengthening the neck. Beneficial for the short tense neck without causing the horse to lean. Reinforces the turning aid.

Does your horse suffer from bar sensitivity? This mouthpiece traces out a subtle convex arc angled forwards at 45° to the cheek shanks. When a contact is taken, gentle uniform pressure is exerted over the widest, least sensitive part of the tongue, greatly reducing any pressure over the thinner, sensitive, outer edges of the tongue and bars. This design is extremely popular with Thoroughbreds, as they usually have thin skinned, angular bars. The Neue Schule Thoroughbred Weymouth does not travel forwards onto the tongue and allows plenty of room for the bridoon. If a horse is particularly sensitive, a thicker bridoon may be employed.

Mouthpiece thickness is 12 mm. Shank size is 7 cm.

Is your horse overactive in the mouth? Is he inwardly fixated on the presence of the doubles and not focussing fully on the rein aids? This design is often beneficial for the “short smile” (small distance from the corner of the lip to the muzzle), the busy mouth, tongue evasions or horse’s that experience difficulty in breathing and swallowing when in an advanced outline. The NS Transform depresses the whole of the tongue, much further back, creating larger airway enhancing the horse’s ability to breathe and swallow. An indication of a restricted airway may be a tense horse that is over salivating or even making a gurgling sound. Also beneficial if tongue evasions are habitual as there is a lot less room for the horse to successfully draw the tongue back, push down on the mouthpiece or get it over the top.

Mouthpiece thickness is 12 mm. Shank size is 7 cm.

The NS Tranz D-Ring is excellent for directional control and exceptionally good for tight turns during faster work as the mouthpiece should not slide across the mouth. It is also safer for young horses as it should not pull through the mouth in a panic situation. The NS Tranz D-Ring is beneficial for children or novice riders who may not be sufficiently experienced in supporting their inside rein. Good for dressage as it gives the rider greater shoulder control on a circle and helps set up the bend when changing the rein or with lateral work. The stability the NS Tranz D-Ring offers is often useful for horses that are overactive in the mouth in a loose ring design.

    Mouthpiece thickness is 14mm.

A gentle training tool with a bit of extra help. When a contact is taken, the Tranz Angled Lozenge rolls down onto the centre of the tongue, the 'sweet spot', enhancing feel and responsiveness, thus a higher level of communication through the rein is achieved. The arms are slightly curved and of an oval profile. This oval design takes up less room between the tongue and upper palate, whilst offering a similar weight bearing surface from the horse's perspective as thicker, circular mouthpieces. The 14mm bradoon with neat 55mm rings is used with the Weymouth or on a small head. The 14mm normally offers extra lift from the shoulder and takes up less room in the mouth than thicker mouthpieces.

An innovative lightweight, elegant cheek design very popular in the show ring incorporating the NS Tranz mouthpiece. This Pelham is designed to be comfortable promoting a rounder outline whilst also encouraging more freedom through the shoulder. Often sourced for control and self-carriage, this Pelham usually gives more feel and response as opposed to a standard solid mouthpiece that often results in fixing and blocking, culminating in a ‘wooden’ feel.

This combination of Baucher cheek and NS Tranz mouthpiece usually helps the rider to achieve and maintain a rounder and more correct outline. If your horse is constantly resisting, strung out or coming above the bit the usual response to the NS Tranz Baucher is a head lowering action and softer feel through the rein. This design often proves beneficial for the over sensitive mouth. Highly recommended where help is needed for straightness and directional control.

Mouthpiece thickness: 14 mm or 16 mm

This bit comes in 5 inches and fits 99% of the horses and they don't need anything bigger because it is a fixed cheek bit.

Anatomy-inspired double jointed bit design with enhanced mouthpiece stability, through optimised alignment of the mouthpiece surfaces to the tongue and palate.

The Turtle Top™ link shape takes inspiration from the shell of the box turtle. This flattened dome shaped link lowers palate pressure and prevents the cannons from being pushed upwards above the link by the horse’s tongue.

The Neue Schule Flex design concept delivers a guaranteed and well controlled co-alignment of the surfaces of the mouthpiece with the sensitive surfaces of the equine mouth. For most designs Flex delivers parallel co-alignment of the Turtle Top™ dome with the equine palate.

In selected designs we allow Flex to deliver some firm but fair additional pressure to the tongue and poll using a lever action-induced rotation of the mouthpiece. The extra pressure obtainable is carefully restricted with Flex limiting the range of additional rotation to around 10 degrees.

Mouthpiece thickness is 16 mm. Ring size is 70 mm.

Greatly clarifies and emphasises the signals through the rein. Promoting self carriage and throughness, a true outline and freedom through the shoulder can be developed. The Verbindend has consistently helped eradicate tongue evasions, encouraging the horse to soften and relax through the jaw. The cleverly curved mouthpiece can also enhance the development of the bend for lateral work and smaller circles. This dressage legal snaffle is not severe, so if you are a pleasure rider and simply wish to lift the forehand then this bit is a logical choice.

Please note - due to the curvature of the mouthpiece the NS Verbindend shortens when placed in your horse's mouth, we recommend that you order 1/4" larger than your normal size.
