Intec Performance Gear was founded by two seasoned equine industry veterans, Frank Plastino and Izzy Strauss. The Plastino family has been crafting equestrian caps and helmets for nearly sixty years. In 1986 Frank founded International Riding Helmets, which has been at the forefront of rider safety ever since. Frank is an original member of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) committee on equestrian headgear and a contributor to the development of industry standard F1163.90a.
